Civil Courage – Limits of the Notion from the Perspective of Economic Justice

Abstract

The article aims to answer the question: can civil courage be sensibly discussed without questioning economic and social violence and its impact on civil society? In other words, we made an attempt to put civil courage in the context of social class interests. Using the argument presented by David Ost, we attempt to demonstrate that the exclusion of economic violence from the definition of civil courage limits our understanding of democracy and the processes related to it. courage, civil society, class anger, democracy
